2016 Coaching Staff Announced
Myrtle Ridge Northern Hawks Netball Club has a new coach at the helm in readiness for the 2016 ANZ State League season.
Ruth Tuohy has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Hawks Open Team and the Club is looking forward to creating a supportive environment in Tuohy’s debut season at state league level.
Tuohy has been coaching for nine years and in that time has led NTNA senior Division 1 Spartans Team to consecutive back to back premierships and has previously been a Development Squad coach for Hawks.
Tuohy is excited to have the opportunity to progress to the next level as a coach and steer the Hawks on toward continued competitiveness and success on court.
Tuohy brings a new perspective and approach to the senior group and has the coaching ability to create a strong team environment.
Tuohy said she is looking to recruit players with the potential to take on the challenges that will face the Club in 2016.
Kellie Tahiri has been re-appointed as Hawks 19U Head Coach.
Tahiri is looking forward to working with Hawks to develop the Club’s depth of future players and remain competitive in the 19U state league division.
“North has so many talented players and they need a pathway to elite netball in the state which Hawks are happy to provide to anyone willing to work hard at it”
“Last season the Club made it to two preliminary finals and it would be great to see the Club continue to be represented with both teams in finals again next year”
Hawks have been fortunate to recruit the services of a number of experienced and knowledgeable coaches to round out a strong coaching panel for the Club.
Deb Daniel and Kellie Woolnough are both highly regarded coaches and will be assisting and mentoring within the Hawks coaching framework which also includes Michael Bird, Natalie Allison, Hazel Fraser and Tiffany Skeggs.
Hawks President Rose Gibbons is confident the Club is in a strong position to advance it’s place and competitive edge.
Trials for the Open & 19U will be held over two nights, Tuesday 13th & 20th October 2015, 6pm-8pm at Launceston Church Grammar Gym and are open to players turning 16 and above in 2016.
